A bit like a “cold toddy,” the Penicillin cocktail brings together the comforting flavors of lemon and honey, a touch of smoke from scotch, a zing of ginger and, of course, Maker’s Mark. A tale of two whiskies, the Penicillin cocktail opens with aromas of smoke and peat and then gives way to a balanced sweetness and a pop of spice. To ensure consistency, we rotate every barrel by hand and age our bourbon to taste, not time. Each and every bottle of Maker's is still hand-dipped in our signature red wax at our distillery in Loretto, KY., just like Bill, Sr. would have wanted.

Bourbon and crème de cassis play together to bring a wonderfully jammy element to the classic whisky sour. This remix on a classic Whisky Sour uses Crème de Cassis to make it sweet and special. “Cassis,” French for blackcurrant, is a liqueur derived from these berries by macerating them in brandy or a neutral grain spirit. This specialty of the Burgundy region has been produced there since 1841.
